The Girl In The Camel Cape: Pretty Peplum

Back in 2004 at the not-so-trendy age of fourteen, if any item of clothing contained lycra, a Jane Norman label, or a delightfully tasteful Playboy logo, then you could guarantee it would have a place in my chavtastic wardrobe. Through the years I've just about managed to ditch the Jane Norman obsession and successfully bin the pink Playboy garments, but unfortunately the cling-tastic lycra continues to play a dominant part in the world of fashion. This primarily comes in the form of the highly sought after Body-Con *shudders*. Unfortunately, I wasn't blessed with the physique of a shop mannequin, so squishing myself into one of these delightfully snug garments would look more Miranda Hart than Miranda Kerr. Luckily, this season has introduced us to the beautiful creation that is the peplum; it's elegant, it's feminine, it's flattering, and it's more than welcome in my spring/summer 2012 wardrobe. The deliciously favourable peplum has the figure-hugging qualities of a body-con, but gracefully skips the parts of the figure that perhaps shouldn't be hugged. Comfortable enough for a night on the town, smart enough for work and absolutely perfect for a heavy meal out; this seasons peplum is the perfect addition to any fashionistas wardrobe.
